Update from Thurleigh Parish Council May meeting

The Annual Parish Meeting took place on the 20th May at the Village Hall. Minutes can be found on the Parish Council website

APM Minutes

At the meeting the matter of Community Infrastructure Levy (CiL) was discussed. These are funds provided by the developer to the Borough Council as part of the planning permission to help towards improved infrastructure or repairs to existing infrastructure. As Thurleigh have a neighbourhood plan 25% of these funds come to the Parish Council to spend.

CiL can be spent on a broad range of facilities, such as play areas, open spaces, cultural and sports facilities, community safety facilities and more. It can be used to increase capacity of current infrastructure or repair failing existing infrastructure.

The Parish Council is keen to understand what residents would like to see the money spent on, and to this end asked residents attending the Annual Parish Meeting for their suggestions.

They would now welcome suggestions- along with costings if possible- from Thurleigh residents, and if you have any ideas please can you forward details to the clerk via email at clerk@thurleigh-pc.gov.uk
