At the July meeting of the Parish Council the Clerk advised that they had heard from Indurant following some questions raised by a resident over fencing, the boom and oil on the swans at the reservoirs.
Indurent advised that it is drainage infrastructure not a nature reserve and would be grateful if reference to them being reservoirs cease.
Regarding the fencing Indurant confirmed they have had a report done that clearly states for health and safety reasons they are obliged to put up a fence around the drainage infrastructure and this is linked to insurance. The gates to the platform will be locked, again for safety reasons. The fence will not be removed, however they will ensure that growth between the drainage infrastructure and the fence will be cut back. Indurant have advised that there is obvious damage being caused to the fencing where it has been deliberately cut in places and if anyone sees anything please let them know.
The issue of the boom not working correctly has been sorted, as has an oil leak on site.
Indurant have confirmed that they are happy to allow a permissive footpath around the site but reiterate it’s not a nature reserve but a working drainage system for the airfield.
Please can residents respect the decisions made by Indurant and if you see anyone damaging anything please report it.
