At the July meeting of the Parish Council the following statement was made about the rural bus service
Bus Services in Rural Villages
Grant Palmer will cease operating the Rural bus service from the 31st July 2024.
On engaging with them to extend the current rural contract they declined. We wish Grant Palmer well and thank them for the services they have provided over the past 12 years.
Bedford Borough procurement department put out a tender for bus service operation for the Rural Villages, and following the successful tender, we are pleased to announce that this has been awarded to Stagecoach.
Services will continue from the 1st of August without interruption.
The Parish Council also agreed to provide a grant to The Villager Minibus service which is also available for Thurleigh residents to use- link to the website attached for more information
BRCC continue to engage with residents about setting up a Good Neighbours Scheme. Whilst they have someone prepared to act as Chairman, and a number of volunteers, in order for the scheme to go ahead a secretary and treasurer are required. If you wish to volunteer for either of these roles, please contact the Clerk on clerk@thurleigh-pc.gov.uk
