At the July meeting of the Parish Council the following was covered, amongst other items
First Responder Unit: the Parish Council has been approached by a resident who has suggested setting up a first responder unit in the village- currently the nearest one is Riseley. If anyone is interested please contact the Clerk in the first instance on clerk@thurleigh-pc.gov.uk who will collate a list of interested parties.
Allotments; as part of the neighbourhood development plan the Parish Council stated an intent to work with the local community to confirm whether interest exists for the provision of allotments and if so look to identify possible sites. To start this process the parish Council wishes to understand if there is interest in provision of allotments. If anyone is interested please contact the Clerk in the first instance on clerk@thurleigh-pc.gov.uk who will collate a list of interested parties.
Transporters: the Parish Council is aware that the number of transporters coming through the village has increased and has been working with BCA and Cazoo to understand why. A representative from BCA attended the meeting and explained that most are lost. They can however track where the transporters have been and if the information on any siting is shared with either BCA or the Clerk, along with times and if possible a registration number the driver will be spoken to. At the moment transporters are not banned from the village- the current ban starts at the Milton Road junction; however the Borough Council is currently undertaking a review and the Parish Council has requested that no transporter signs go up at the Bolnhurst junction and Ravensden crossroads to stop transporters through the village. The Borough Council is expected to advise of the plan with the next couple of months.
Minutes of the meeting can be found on the Parish Council website
